Im surprised it holds together with only two blades on it, it must shake quite badly when it yaws. We tried that a few years back - the tail fell off within minutes! (but it was a turbulant site). Dual rotors woudl be good too….

where is the brake?
DanFrederiksen on Mon, 23rd Mar 2009 7:40 pm
damn that sounds dangerous at the end there
probably be a good idea to have some electronics that loads it up so it doesn’t spin up so fast. it was amazingly fast. the blade design must be quite good

Someone needs to open their eyes.% mph start up speed on wind turbines. 40mph is more thn enough wind to power your own home. IF you can reduce your power bill by half it is worth it!

GCChamp1983 Have a look at otherpower or scoriagwind they show how many turns of wire and how many magnets to use with how many coils (need at least 3)often 100 turns 9coils is common , 3 coils for each phase of A.C. power.
GGChamp1983 on Sat, 4th Apr 2009 5:29 pm
GREAT VIDEO,theres alot of videos out there but i find it hard to see how each coil are connected, how do i connect say 9 coils together[3 phase] how many turns does it matter?how many magnets?how big a blade each, i wanna power my home, anyone help me? thanks guys
mikencarolfrench on Mon, 6th Apr 2009 6:48 pm
It can become more eficient if he placed magnets on both sides of the coils. I have seen plans where thats the best way to go. But those magnets are expensive. Its about half the cost of the whole project.

You should use a large gear spinning a smaller gear to get a larger RPM
angurisloud on Fri, 10th Apr 2009 8:48 am
40 MPH wind ? LOL! that’s insane! most wind turbines need 12 MPH average, and shut down a speed less than 40 MPH. If it was this easy, we’re be seeing them all over. If we could be independant DIY where’s the massive news coverage? Where’s the small businesses promoting this… These guys are BS’ing their way through this…
